George was born in Duanesburg, Schenectady County, NY, in 1815, the son of William and Phoebe (Sherman) Rector. His wife was Martha Cambell. They moved to IL in 1844. Several of their children were born in NY, and the rest in IL. Three of their sons-Sherman, William Henry, and Edwin fought in the Civil War in the 95 Regiment, C company from Illinois. Other children were Sarah Jane, Theodore, Frederick, Amos, Emma, Esther Ann, Alice, and Mary. I am looking for information on any of these Rectors.
